• Dyno Days [Next: Aug 4, 2012]
  About once a year we congreate at Bisimoto Engineering (bisimoto.com) and put a bunch of our cars on the dyno for power runs and remapping. Please see the event section for information on the next event. If you do not have a Pectel T2 or T6, please bring software and a cable that either plugs into an RS232 or a USB port.

Magnus, I can offer help with moderate CNC work for mid-size plastic and aluminum parts. Mild steel is probably also doable if slowly (have not tried yet). Surely not stainless steel or titanium. Max part size is 34" x 30" x 8" (sheet material can be longer). I can do parts like this:

It is homebuilt. You will be not surprised that it is made from plywood ;-) Bamboo plywood, that is. Plus some strategic aluminum.
It is mainly meant for wood working like sign carving, furniture parts or artsy stuff. But it is pretty massive at 550 pounds, has C5 grade ball screws, a 3hp high speed spindle and is precise enough for metal work.
However, it is not set up for flood or mist coolant which limits feed rates in metal, especially aluminum tends to gum up the bit.

We have 2 giant sweetgum trees in front of our house, which coupled with wind make it very hard to keep the garage floor clean for more than a few minutes in the fall. The roots have torn up the sewers and sidewalks, so the best solution is to cut them down and put in something a little more manageable.

Anyway - the motor is out of the car. I have the new head back from the machine shop and I finished the transmission rebuild. It's off to have the chassis braise-welded hopefully sometime next week and then begins the process of assembly.
