  • looking for contacts in Northern CA

    Hi Everyone,

I just joined today on the advice of Magnus. Who also offered up, unsolicited I might add, that I throw myself on the mercy of those in the allready committed ranks to ask for advice.

I know little about Lotus/Caterham other than the odd connection of being blessed with changing a timing belt on a Jensen-Healy with the the twin cam, 4 valve motor in the late seventies. I also am aware of the notorious Prince of Darkness, who bewitched our Healy 3000 on the way to Santa Cruz in the 60's. Had some fun sleeping in the back seat of a "borrowed' car for two days waiting for a fuel pump to arrive................ Ah, to be young and foolish again!

Say, isn't that what is happening. Maybe it's time to back out now! Somebody save me, throw a drowning man a vise or something.

I live in Santa Clara and have a WCM Ultralite which is a bit larger than a Caterham and uses the Honda S2000 powertrain. You are welcome to come by and have a look any time you are in the South Bay.

In terms of events there should be a handful of Sevens at the Monterey Motorsports reunion (http://www.californiacaterhamclub.co...ead.php?t=1448) in August. You should also consider coming by to the next GGLC BBQ/drive/meeting in Danville on the 12th(http://gglotus.org/blog/?p=1280). I will likely be the only Seven but there should be plenty of other Lotus machinery.

            Bob,

I know there are some seven owners of various makes (Caterham, Birkin, and Stalkers) in the north bay area (San Rafael to Napa). They are mostly on this site and/or the usa7s site. If you want to PM me I can help you connect with them.

I'm in Santa Cruz - also happy to meet up with you.

Its another Seven inspired car which is larger than the Caterhams and has the Honda S2000 powertrain. I've been keeping a blog of my experiences at http://www.rahulnair.net/blog/tag/setting-up-a-seven/

                  Hi Rod,

If you have time one of these fine days, maybe I could drive down and look at your car. Nothing demanding, I'm not wanting a ride or a drive, just some talk and actually see how it all goes together.
I would certainly appreciate your time.

                  Thanks, Bob W
