  • New Los Angeles Member thinking of Caterham

Hi everyone, new member here trying to educate myself on the Caterham. I am interested in getting into one, but I'd like to do my due diligence first. Any comments or suggestions are welcome and encouraged!

Some background information first. I'm in my early 30s and I have been owned many different cars, trucks, and motorcycles over the years. I have about 10 years of experience doing motorcycle trackdays and classes, but I've never raced. I also have significant experience doing auto-x and automobile trackdays at local tracks (streets, big willow, buttonwillow). I currently own a 996 Turbo and a 73 Bronco. I know, I know, completely opposite vehicles.

A few months ago, I was at a trackday event at Buttonwillow and there was a Caterham there running. I fell in love. I'm now trying to decide what my options are for purchasing one. I love to drive the canyons so it must be street legal.

BTW, I'm 6'2", 225lbs, and have size 12 shoes. I'm not sure if this matters or not. Thanks.

      Hi,
I'm 6'3", 220, 36 waist, 32 inseam, 11W shoe. I fit nicely in my Birkin S3. If you're in the LA/Orange county border area, I'll be happy to let you see how well you fit. :-)

See the one for sale by Scott K. (New2 7s).

        He's 6'+.

He seems to fit OK and has spent a lot of time getting the car sorted.

        Welcome to the group.

Thanks Doug. I'll take a look in the for sale section?
