Cool, but seems to be missing quite a few bits...like the transmission tunnel, scuttle, and most of the rear!

Oops! Forgot to mention its a 'Work-in-progress' shot. Dashboard tubes, rear, trans tunnel, brackets for front wishbones and steering rack mount, etc. all not done yet.

Very nice and I would be interested in the result...So who is working on the 3D-file and which model version (Lotus or Caterham or whatever) does it represent?

The file is being worked on by a former Lotus Engineering design engineer who's into cars. He found some drawings which are supposedly of late 60s Sevens floating around on the net and has been researching his collection of Lotus/Caterham books for pictures of spaceframes to see how things go together. Very interesting eh? Wish I had the skill!

Does anyone have access to a late model Caterham frame? Need some dimensions for the 'rear bulkhead' A (width) and B (height) measured from inside the rectangle. From pictures on the net I presume its 3/4" square section. Thanks!

Latest update ... still need info for 'rear bulkhead' and tunnel tube dimensions though.

Here's how it looks as of 5th December 2007. The guy building it might be able to start cutting metal soon.
