  • car cover and shift light

I am finding that i need a car cover. My need is primarily for use in my garage, but some outdoor use also. Outdoors I am mostly concerned about prying eyes and fingers, as I have no top, or sidecurtains. any suggstions as to a good company would be greatly appreciated.
I am also considering a shift light. The SLD5 from Cranston Racing looks like a good one. Any ideas on what might, or might not work.
    thanks Rich,
PS the first tour plan came within 11 miles of my house (Burney area). Now it's more like 100 miles. I doubt if my back will allow me to join up, but time will tell.

Got a good one, specifically designed for a 7, from Cover Systems in the UK for about $150 delivered a few years back. Light and compact, breathes and is OK for occasional out door use. Don't know what the present exchange rates and freight costs have done to the cost.....

My cover is from Covercraft (look under Lotus Super 7). If you want something really light, then check out the cover from Soft Bits for Sevens.

For a shift light, I am very happy with the DRE unit.

        Shift-i

I've read nothing but positive reviews on Blatchat about the Shift-i from Ecliptech, an Australian company. It looks like a really well thought-out design to me. I don't know of anyone here in the states that has one, though (or has even seen one!). I was thinking that if I were to decide down the road to get a shift light, that this would be the one I would look into first.

Sorry about that....but there were obviously some good reasons.

Why not join us Saturday in the Chico area, drive up to Weaverville and return home on Sunday? Well, just an idea.....

Thanks for all the input. I will probably go with the covercraft cover. I've been trying for several months to get a response from Soft Bits for Sevens without any luck. I think I'll go with the DRE SLD5 shift light. It contains a digital tach, as well as the shift lights, and one of my reasons for going to the shift light was my lack of trust in my tach.

I have a California Car Cover. It fits perfectly and their customer service is amazing.

                Car cover

While it's far from a custom fit, I picked up a Miata cover for $20.00 on Craigslist that does a good job of keeping the dirt off in the garage.
