  • Delivery of Kit, finally

I have not been on the forum for quite a while. I just received delivery of the kit today after a very long wait. :) Again, I want to thank the San Diego guys for all their help and I hope to see you all again. The fun is about to begin.

If you get stuck on assy just post on here (the default dealer network) and some help will not be far off! Have fun puttin' it together.

Which zetec motor did you choose?

The supersport package. It has 202 HP and 6 speed transmission. I will try to get to the site more often.

I already am taking pictures and most of it is uncrated. I have a lot of reading to do to make sure it gets put together correctly. I believe my wife will want to rush me to get it together. She wants to auto-x. She will have to be patient.

Congrats on your new car, I've had mine for 18 months and just getting it on the road now (though my situation probably isn't the norm). Enjoy the build process.

Will you be using the stock Ford induction/injection system, or an aftermarket version?

Sounds like you will have a fun autoX 7. Welcome to the fray!!

Stock for now. Modifications may come later. I want to learn about the car inside and out first and then see where I will go from there. One of my favorite acronyms KISS. I think this philosophy works well.

That very principle was used to spec my 7. The guiding philosophy was that I am an idiot and I had to be certain to spec well proven systems and NEVER try to reinvent the wheel. It worked!

Mine was to take a chance on the bleeding edge because it was the way forward. It worked too, in no small part due to the competence of our English friends and their serious addictions.

                      Modifications may come later.
Be advised that upgradeitis is an affliction you already have. You just don't know it yet because the symptoms are masked by the adrenaline of build-tosis. They will reveal themselves in due time.

All these medical terms Chris has thrown around are lost on me because I am not a licensed physician (even though I have performed an emergency panty-ectomy or two back in my days of youth), but you may find some useful tips from this site http://www.seven-ecstasy.co.uk/html/top_build_tips.html.

Step one. Get it up and running.

                          Step two. Upgrade

Step three. Repeat as often as neccessary.

Sorry, I have not gotten back to you sooner. I was in the hospital for a few weeks.

It took too long. About 7 months. They never explained the hold up. I was told it would take about 3 months since the cars are made to order.
