Bike Exhaust for Sevens?

I noticed on the UK Sevens list the guys were discussing using motorcycle mufflers on their cars. I did a quick check of ebay and found several mufflers of approximately the right size going for less than $25. These were generally OEM's taken off new cycles as guys upgraded. There are also titanium and carbon fiber units for much more.
Anyone have experience doing this? How would a cycle muffler sound on a Zetec? Any negatives come to mind?

Given the typical size it might be on the loud side but I can not see why it would not work.
