Guys,
I am considering purchasing a Caterham from CA and taking it to another state. The car is registered as a Specially Constructed vehicle with a 2006 year on it as all of the first 500 certificates of sequence were given out by Jan 3, 2006 so the year reverts to the year of application.
My question is that i would imagin gaining insurance, finance, re-registration in a different state would all be easier if this had been registered as being a replica of a Lotus 7 and a year in the 1960's given? I have a copy of the registration that i can take to my local BMV with me but wondered if anyone could offer me any comments on this, as I suspect they are going to classify this as a kitcar rather than a replica and subsequently make it much more difficult for me?
