Rear brake pads

I am starting my build and have noticed that the manual calls for "blue eared" brake pads for use in the rear with the upgraded front brakes. I only have a set of regular 3460 rear brake pads. What is the difference between these two types of pads?

I believe the compound is different. With the more powerful front brakes the rear pads need to be changed to maintain the correct brake bias.
