  • Battery cut off switch

    Hi There,
My Odyssey 625 seems to drain if I leave the car for more than a few weeks. I read somewhere that my emerald ECU might be drawing a little current when the car is off off. Not sure.
Anway, I've seen several cars with battery cut off switches and I wondered if there is a preferred switch for the sevens.
There seems to be four million different switches available having had a quick look at Jegs and Summit racing.
Any advice on switch and placement/installation?
    cheers,
    Paul

WiringProducts is the online place to buy automotive wiring & electrical supplies. Many of our wiring products are made in the USA. We stock thousands of electrical parts such as wire, electrical supplies, automotive wire, fuse blocks, battery cable, wire terminals, automotive electrical, circuit breakers, wire looms.

I just installed the $35 dollar one, SW-BS1 (painted the lever red) after replacing one very similar to the $21 one, SW-BS3. It seems a lot more solid. The cheaper one's posts came loose, though they can be tightened up.

Also note that the Caterham switch has connections for the alternator...so if you turn off the switch while the engine is running, you don't fry your alternator.
