  • Charcoal Canister hookup for SVT

Does anyone have pictures of how the charcoal canister is supposed to be hooked up to the SVT engine? I would like to hook mine up to get rid of one of my engine codes but cannot find instructions on how to do it. Can anyone help?

I might have it in one of my Ford manuals and will check.

Is there a particular reason you need to get rid of the code?

I ended up removing the charcol cannister as it's just extra weight.

The service manual on CD may have the information but it's so hard to find I gave up.

If no one else can help see if you can find an SVT you can look at.

Best to just forget it and remove the weight unless there is some compelling reason you need to fix it.

I failed Massachusetts state inspection with 9 error codes on the SVT OBD II port. The codes were related to 3 main areas:
        1) Throttle position sensor, for which I bought a new one and am now testing
        2) Fuel tank not pressurized, Caterham USA says I can't fix this one.
        3) Fuel vapor recovery system, Caterham USA says I need to hook up the canister

For what it's worth...this is where I attached my canister, although I don't know if I'm going to leave it. Tight fit, but it just does. Hoses from the tank to the front might be a bit short.

You aren't the only owner that asks questions. It goes with the being the dealer.

Sevens and Elans is the one who built my car. Chris insists that he hooked up the pipes. But he didn't. I'm not so sure I want to bring the car to him since he took 3 years to built it. Who knows how long hooking these hoses up will take.
