  • Looking for the wider versions of a 7

I know the SV is wider, but the premium on it puts it way out of my price range. I need SB100 as I live in CA. I'd prefer a Fuel injected car as I know very little about carbs. A Zetec, Duratec or heck an S2000 motor would be great. What other 7 clones should I keep an eye out for?

    Hm.

The only car that comes to mind is the Superformance S-1 roadster.

I saw one in their showroom in Irvine when the car was still in production. Frankly, I wasn't too impressed with it since its weight and overall design put it more in the "latte racer" category rather than following the true Seven heritage. I am, however, quite biased on the subject.

Here is one that was for sale: http://www.gmsr.info/pre2007/s1sale.htm

I don't know what your budget is. But the 23K puts you in the bottom end of a used SV territory.

I'd only seen the one SV for sale at almost 40K was way too rich for my blood. I might be able to eventually swing 20-25k. If they get down to that level.

$20-25k will get you a WCM Ultralite which is much larger than a Caterham and fits both taller and wider occupants. There are 4 of us in the Bay Area and you can see some of my ownership experience at http://www.rahulnair.net/blog/tag/setting-up-a-seven/

plenty of room in the WCM... check out my album for few pics. Might be a little tough to find one. One for sale on USA7 but it has a Saturn motor. Brunton Stalkers are bigger too

You could not build that car for the asking price in my humble belief.
Looks like it just needs some finishing touches such as paint and some polishing.
Might be worth your time to go look at it if you want a larger car than a standard 7.

PS: I also have a scratch built 7 clone that is for sale and is smaller not a plus size and I am 6'2-1/2" tall and a 38 waist.

That looks like a great deal (if everything works). Throw a turbo on that Miata motor and your up with most everyone.
