Hey, I know some of you already. I am located in the San Diego area.
I was at a BritishSpeed meet in San Diego (mainly Lotus based) and EscondidoRon mentioned this forum. So you can blame him. :)
I hope to be more involved in the community. Looking at setting up a gimmick rally in San Diego this summer... perhaps make it an annual thing. I also have the bad habit of organizing car control clinics (autocrosses) at Qualcomm and El Toro.
For those that don't know my car background. I was first determined to buy a Seven clone.... the rollerskate series that ran on TV was a big inspiration. Then I saw the Berkin. But then fell in love with an S1 Lotus Motorsport Elise, almost got one through Sun. The federal Elise was announced and I got one of those. Sold it though after working on it too much and got a Noble.
I traveled a lot in the UK for business (ChaseCam) and ended up spending time with the designer of the Toniq car and managed to grab a few drives of the car over the years. I became a dealer of sorts, along with British Racing Group out of Pennsylvania. The first Toniq came into the US in September of 2010. We spent a frantic month getting it ready for display at SEMA, then took it to a trade show in Florida and then shipping it off to a buyer in Texas who is now tracking it (and beating his Exige S track times).
My other cars are the Rossion Q1, an older Miata, a 1986 20V blacktop MR2, a highly modified custom drivetrain 1992 Turbo MR2 (race only), a 2010 Subaru WRX.
We have some more cars in build. I am on the list for the McLaren MP4-12C, but really don't know if that is going to work out.
Also, I am organizing a drive from the east coast to LOG this coming October, followed by a shorter drive across California and down Highway 1 after LOG. We have at least 10 cars already signed up.
