Why are '7's in Cal. fairly pricey , presume its rarity value , similar spec ones in the uk are around $10k less , and they aren't cheap here compared to the opposition eg westys and the like .

buy one in the UK and ship it over. or buy a westy. buyers are willing to pay $10k to avoid that situation.

There's not many around, as you've noted. Also, remember that you must compare apples to apples. Many of the less expensive cars over there do not have the level of fitment as the cars here. Most of the cars here are +/- 200 hp Zetecs.

The used 7s in LF seem to be quite expensive vs USA cars in my view. The pound now containing two bucks is a factor.

Also factor in your time running around getting the SB100. My car on average is the same price as over in the UK, so IMHO a steal when you don't have to factor in the shipping and the sorting out of the gremlins.
