the lousy strawberries this year!??
Our local stores only have these barely-red berries that don't look fit to sell.
Just wondering if its this way up where you live?

Too much late rain and low temperatures. It's still a bit early for the really good ones.

Most of the Strawberries in the stores are bred for good looks and good shelf life. Not flavor. The really good ones you need to eat the day they are picked.

I buy them grower direct out of Oxnard and even then they are sometimes off.

They should be OK for Buttonwillow.
