  • Avoirdupois Party

    avoirdupois |ˌأ¤vərdəˈpoiz|
    noun
    a system of weights based on a pound of 16 ounces or 7,000 grains, widely used in English-speaking countries
    Went to a car weighing party yesterday that was being held at one of the local car collectors man caves. Prizes were given out for best guess, worst guess, heaviest and lightest, which of course I won :D

    My Caterham came in at 1230lbs with a full tank of gas (12 gallon fuel cell), 1200lbs with typical fuel load

    The funny thing is my wife goes " What is that car a Morgan ? " and I said "No that's a Caterham but there is a Morgan driving it " -delise

    I'd nominate this to the man cave of the year if that is indeed an old WWII hellcat bomber hanging in the ceiling.

      Hey Morgan;

      If you get to do this again, you should take my Seven along. It's a full 250lbs lighter with a full tank of fuel!

        No doubt, it's missing a bunch of horses, lol ;)

        I was surprised to see two Elans there, where were these people when I had mine?!

          Looks like fun. You seem to go to a lot of cool events!

          One of my favorite trick questions:
          Which is heavier? An ounce of feathers or an ounce of gold? :confused:

            You use different systems to measure them.

                Sean said it first, so you'll have to steal it from him.

                  Hey Morgan, is that Elan as beautiful in the fibreglass as it looks in the photo?

                  Whatta beauty!

                    Yeah it was pretty clean, as was the green one that was there too. I didn't see the engine compartment though. Owner said he is still sorting out some stuff on it, but when are you not sorting out some stuff on an Elan?
