  • That thing any good?

Not that I would have the space for it anyway.....but $1900 is tempting

Wow, that IS very tempting. I've been looking at lifts and will investigate this one for sure. If I can squeeze it into my 1940's sized garage (surprisingly small for an era with very large cars...) that is.

There's tons of thoughts/opinions in this thread:

Hey, looking to install a lift in the garage. First issue is that this is a standard stick built regular height rafter single layer garage. One can't lift a car very high before you hit stuff (including the garage door roll up area). What have people done that works well? Is a pit a better...

Basically you need to decide if you want a 4 post or a 2 post. I think the biggest problem with 2 post is that you need 6" of high PSI concrete to anchor it to.

I'm strongly considering a single post lift, so that I don't have any obstructions in the middle of my garage.

        One like this:

          Why not build your own?

I build one something like this: http://www.kwiklift.com/features-all.htm

Also check Craigslist as they come up used from time to time, the two poster type, not the kwiklift.

Possible, but the 2-post lift was not even a serious consideration. I have just no space but I found the price interesting.
