  • R500 is home!

I got the car to San Diego, and drove it for the first time tonight. In just a brief jaunt around the block I can see already that this thing is going to be quite a ride! I've had a few high horsepower cars before, but they didn't throw you back anything like this does, and I didn't even get into the power band!

Thanks to Morgan for storing the car, helping coordinate the magazine reviews, and helping Jon fix the shifter. It was great meeting you, and I look forward to getting together and driving sometime soon. Very good seeing Magnus again, too!

Jon from Caterham USA is a great guy, and a pleasure to deal with. I've been very appreciative of his and Ben's help in getting the car prepared. They've been wonderful in helping me fix up my last car and in building this one. They obviously have an affection for these cars, and it seems to be more of a passion to them than a business.

Morgan took some very nice photos of the car. The light blue makes it look kind of understated. Once you start it up, though, it takes on a whole different character.

Between all the delays with the journalists, testing, and nearly getting arrested by homeland security, I didn't get any time to do a proper photoshoot with the car, but here are some quick shots I did in my garage, etc.

The car is insane, my car feels like I am dragging a boat anchor behind it now

The funny thing is my wife goes " What is that car a Morgan ? " and I said "No that's a Caterham but there is a Morgan driving it " -delise

                  Congratulations Justin!

I suddenly got an urge to fix up the aesthetics of my own car. Mechanically sound is suddenly not good enough.

Drive carefully until you know thy beast.

I didn't get a windshield. There are no windshield wiper parts, but apparently the cowl just has those holes, so they are still plugged. This is one of the busiest months I've had in a long time, so I haven't even unloaded the car yet! And I've got to work over the weekend. Grrrr!
