I was at the event and spoke to the owner and his wife. I dont recall his name but I believe he is a GGLC member and attends GGLC events. It's an SV chassis with a 220hp Zetec. His exhaust setup (http://gotbluemilk.com/web100215b/56...s/image41.html) was quite interesting - apparently the second muffler is a quick release and he only uses it for Laguna.
Cool. I really should join the gglotus club one of these days.
Laguna is really tough on sound. I was black flagged there (sorry I don't know the db though). At least with the zetec his exhaust is facing away from the sound booth. That piggyback setup seems like a reasonable idea, but I wonder how much it really helps?
Is your Ultralight street legal? You should come out with us on a blat sometime.

He says its the only way for him to pass sound there. Though actually on that particular event he was black flagged in the final session for exceeding sound. Weather pockets suck :(

Street legal but nowhere close to being Laguna legal yet (109 dB). I'm in the process of figuring out my exhaust options.
I'd love to join you guys for a blat - was unfortunately out of town for the one in January. Also the GGLC is having a drive and BBQ on the 13th if you are interested. Open to everyone with no membership required: http://gglotus.org/blog/?p=753
The secondary muffler is from coastal fabrication (I recognise the triangular plate on it). I ran a somewhat larger version of it as my single muffler, and it did close to nothing to bring the noise down as it set of car alarms with a small throttle blip.
It may work better in a secondary setup. I can try to hook mine up to my newly installed raceo can.
