  • Got pulled over in the Seven

Went to a friends house for dinner in Santa Monica last night and on the way home I was enjoying the cruise and it was so nice out, so I took a detour through the city and got pulled over in Westwood
They pulled me over for having no plate on the back of the car. Obviously, had I been in a regular car with no plate they would not have taken a second look. Once they saw the permit on the windscreen they were cool and started looking over the car and asking questions, what is it? what engine? how much? how fast I have been in it... "oh, only 70-80mph, really "

The funny thing is my wife goes " What is that car a Morgan ? " and I said "No that's a Caterham but there is a Morgan driving it " -delise

When I lived in the Greater Los Angeles area, the saying was, "Don't M-U-C-K with the L-A-P-D". Okay, maybe I can't remember ALL of the letters in the saying correctly (it's been a while), but three out of four ain't bad.

edit -- Hey Morgan, you need an avatar. Surely a guy in your line of work can dig up something suitable?

Figured since they pulled me over for no plate, I might be better off with a paper dealership plate to at least give the appearance that I jut picked it up off the lot

          What do you think?

Good thinkin'. Seems like a good idea to me, anyway.

Did a law enforcement official advise you to do this, or was it your own idea?

Well then, I say again: Good thinkin'!

Now I gotta find me a paper plate from some old Yugo dealer, just to mess with people's heads.

By the way, if you don't plan to run a front plate in the future, stay away from LAX. The LAPD have been known to station an officer at an area where they can see all cars exiting a given terminal "loop", and said officer just writes tickets for no front plate all day long.
