  • For Sale CA SB100 Super 7 HPC

Selling a '92 Caterham HPC California SB100 reg: RHD, BRG, 4 pt harness, clamshells, FIA roll bar, 16" HPC wheels, new fibre glass all around, Cosworth heads, dual 45 webers, solid lifters, med QED cam, balanced, DTA programmable ignition, relocated Odessey battery, ignition and battery cut offs, 4-1 comp exhaust and a SPD dry sump system that has not been installed. The car has mostly club drive miles on it (highway miles driving with older Lotus') and a few track days on larger longer tracks. Well maintained.
I have posted the car on the http://www.rmsci.com/ at $30,000. I think that is a damn fair price. I had a used dealer want to give me $27,000 so if he was to re sell it it must be in the $30,000 to $33,000 range.

Well' there are just a few hours left on the auction and it is sitting at a ridiculously low 18 grand. I would have thought that seeing as how the SB100 is done and the condition of the car it would have climbed higher than that at this point. Hopefully there is a rally at the end.

Hopefully your reserve is much higher than that. I've got quite a bit more money into a car that's not nearly as nice. Best of luck with the auction.

Thanks, fingers crossed. I've gotten interest from Canada, England, Florida, Texas, Nevada etc, but not very many from California, strange.

Just took it out for a little spin in Hermosa, Redondo and Manhattan. Sounds great; took a few minutes to clear it's throat but after that and a decent warm up I took it out for a few parade laps. I'll have to go to Kragen and buy a few new tail light bulbs but other than that it purrs.

Started advertising it outside of the local area and the response has been pretty amazing. I've been advertising it for 30,000 locally AS IS and 35,000 for foreign markets (i'm including my help to arrange shipping etc.). Still dumbfounded  by how little owners sell theirs cars for. There are so many out there with under a 1000 miles going for so cheap. It really is crazy; especially in California where some of them go through the pain of getting the car SB100'ed. When i get moved and settled I'll probably look into a used bike engined 7.
