    Hi,

Anyone have a T-9 5 speed for sale?

    Thanks

A little bit of googling gave this:

Ping them and ask for a pic and mileage.

      Marshall,

I have two different close ratio, competition gearboxes for sale. One is 3 rail (lotus cortina based) and the other is single rail (pinto based)

I have a 5 speed and find that the overdrive is noisy and quieter driving in 4th.

      Contact me if interested,

        Marshall,

Another consideration is depending on your chassis configuration for transmission mounting, a 5 speed may require a custom transmission mount. In my case, I had to add to the existing transmission frame support, build a new support and then design and build a new transmission mount.

With the 4 speeds, I was able to interchange the 3 rail and single rail transmissions.

Only the t9 5 speed provides an overdrive.

The 4 speeds and 6 speed are 1-to-1 ratio in the top gear. If you want lower revs at cruising speeds, the ratio in the diff must be changed.

Then there is the issue of gearbox mounting. The 4 speeds interchange and the 5 & 6 speeds could interchange depending on the use of the Caterham gearbox spacer plate.

As of his last post about the 6-speed, it was still for sale, but that was back in July. Not sure if Marshall is dead set on a T9 5-speed or not.

Actually decided to rebuild the old T-3 single rail 4 speed I’ve got.

                Thanks

Looks like I'm now in the market for a Type 3, if possible as mine needs everything.
