  • Caterham 6 speed transmission

We have installed a Sadev sequential transmission with a Geartronics paddle shifter system in my R500, so I am selling the original Caterham 6 speed transmission. The car was built in 2010, and this transmission has 4,000 miles on it since new. Many of those, however, are track miles. The transmission was performing without any problems when removed from the car. It will need a new rear seal, though.

These list on the Caterham site for 2550 GBP, which is $4320 by current conversion rates. I'd like to get $2000 for this transmission from a local buyer. If I don't get any local buyers this month, I will consider shipping. It is located in San Diego.

I also have the original Bilstein shocks and springs - only used for a few miles. I do not know if they are valved or sprung differently for the R500 than the standard Bilsteins. $500 local, or if no local offers this month will consider shipping.

I will be traveling a bit this summer, so I might not respond immediately.

    Thanks,

    Justin

      A note about the shocks:

The front shocks are 15" from center of eyelets, and 7 1/4" springs.

The rear shocks are 18.5" from center of eyelets, and 13 1/2" springs.

      Both have 1/2" diameter eyelets.

These are for a wide track front. I believe the only dimensional difference from standard shocks is the addition of an extension:

For anyone who has a T9 gearbox with the short firest-gear, the six speed is a brilliant upgrade. Please note, however, that final drive is 1:1, which will give you a higher rpm at the freeway than fifth gear on the T9.

The shocks are now sold, but transmission is still available. Will ship at buyers expense if needed.

          Thanks,

          Justin
