    Hello group,

Looking to buy any extra seats from those of you who may have upgraded. The seats in mine are plywood and carpet pad, so I'm not too picky. Anything would be better.

    Thanks

I just ordered new seats for my Birkin , if I like them as much as they cost, I will be selling my stock seats in a couple weeks, they are in very good shape and black

I have a single seat of this model (with neck rest).

Runners included. The only thing that I need to check is if this seat is specific for the SV model I have, or if it is generic across all Caterhams. Does anyone know about this?

      /Magnus F.

I'd like to get a look at the Birken seats, if and when. Definitely two needed. Easy drive for me to get there.

          ..ahem. Yes, Birkin. Not Birken.

I am planning on driving in the British car owners Auto X Sat June 22 at the cow palace , in Daly city. I could throw my Birkin, seats with tracks and brackets in the back of my truck ( I tow my 7 to most events ) if you could bring your 7 you would see how much fun Auto X is and helpful other 7 owners are ( you can just watch if you want ) and/or I will let you ride shotgun with me, DaveL

That would be great! Very interested in Auto X, and that day I have free. I'd probably bring my truck. My 7's front end setup is not good, so I'll be tinkering with it next weekend. I'll PM you later with contact info and such.

I am interested in your seat if it fits standard size car.

If you are able to post on blatchat, I suggest that you tell them about your 7s specs and what the handling problem is. You will get plenty of responses and recommendations on where to acquire the parts needed to fix your handling.

Two cents from me: Stiffer springs up front and adjustable shocks at both ends.

Do a BlatChat search on spring rates. Lots of info to be found (some to be taken w/ grains of salt). You don't have to be a member to search & read.

Blatchat has been extremely informative. My issue is about 5 degrees of negative camber, and major toe out. Blatchat had a great tip using bolt and nut to crack open the ball joint. Flat flooring is another project I have on tap.

The bolt and nut method is mine! I gave it to them freely years ago.

The club has scales you are welcome to use for the flat flooring. They are currently in So. Cal. but show up in N. Cal. from time to time.

We have other alignment tools as well.

And yes Blatchat was extemely helpful when I built my car. These cars have been sold as a 'kit' ,as in put it together yourself, since 1957. However, the build manual is not yet finished. It works for most things but then you come to a point where it says absolutely nothing. Generally you can find the answer on Blatchat.
