WTB 15" Rims

Would these be for an SV?

The fenders on a traditional size Caterham are typically radiused for 13" wheels. The SV has 15" radius fenders. I am noting this because fitment/appearance might be an issue.

The number of tire brands making good 13" tires seems to be dwindling on this side of the pond. 13" tires and wheels do have a significant advantage when it comes to unsprung weight, if you care.

Perhaps this is changed now. We built our SV with 13" rims and the S3 R400 with 15" rims. The fenders were the same... but then the outer rolling diameters of the tires were very close.

15s have been used on many S3 variants for a long time, normally the higher spec cars get the 13s because of their lower weight.

It is my understanding that the difference is the stanchions not the fenders, my car has 15" (which is how it came) wheels but the stanchions are for the 13" and there is a sliver of clearance between the tire (195/45/15) and the fender, even had to bend the stanchions a bit so it wouldn't rub. The pics of Randy's R400 with 15" wheels show a lot more clearance between the fender and tire.
Unfortunately because of this I am stuck buying the Avons tires which are the only tires I have found that come in this size and they expensive and hard to find, or switch to 13" wheels which is another can of worms.

Randy, I took it from your post that you may be interested in parting with your 13" wheels and taking my 15" wheels, but you have not responded to my messages both here and elsewhere. Could you let me know what you want to do so I can figure out what I need to do as I need to replace the tires on my car soon.

I find it a little unnerving that the new factory authorized Caterham dealer in California would allow a request for parts to go unanswered for so long.
I understand he is in the process of moving the business to a new location, so let's hope the temporary disruption will be minimal.

Hey Morgan, I see that there is a new 13" BBS wheel for Sevens available here for only €2,500 per wheel before shipping and taxes ($3,271 at today's published exchange rate). Insane.

Some years ago I bought 13" Minilites (2 6X13, 2 8X13) from a UK Caterham dealer for about $800 delivered to me here in SD, CA. You might investigate some of their offers. No VAT should be charged on export sales.

To be fair, this was not a request for parts. I was looking for 15" rims. I want an extra set of rims so I can put on sticky rubber so I can autocross the car properly. To that extent, this was not a dealer request. I was looking for rims. I was not as interested in trading rims, but I would consider it. Even if I trade, I still want 15" rims.

So if that was a formal "request for parts"..then my apologies. I will try to check this forum more often.
