I won't be there...I decided to give my car a good check-up, including the propshaft, crank seals and other things that will surely take me a while.

On the tour I dinged the propshaft a few times into the safety hoops and that begins to worry me. May have to do a modification to the hoops. Once I open that can of worms I may add an aero, well you get the idea.....hope that does not become a full winter project.

    Hi Guys,

I won't be able to come down to Buttonwillow in October. I will be at Little Red Nut (Thunderhill backwards) on the weekend of the 13th and Infineon (forwards) October 27th.

    Have fun!

    Tech

Note that the tech inspections are only free in SoCal. In NorCal they are supposed to be free if you do a pre-tech at a local shop (although I was charged $20 anyway) or if you get teched the day of the event it is $40.

Doug, have you gotten any information on becoming a tech inspector?

They do tech inspection at the track for free but it usually needs to be done between 7:00 and 8:00 AM.

There is generally a mandantory drivers meeting at 8:00 AM

I think Clark Taylor in our group is a tech inspector for NASA as well as the Alfa Club.

They do have a limited number of tech stations in So Cal where you can get preteched.

    Call NASA for a list.

For HPDE1 Tech is pretty mild, the one thing you should check is that the battery terminals are covered with an insulator.

    NASA oct.

I'm going to try to get the car on the track for the first time, do i need to get a tech inspection before the weekend? I'll only be running in HPD1 and don't know if I can get there early enough on sat. morning. Steve

    Fall NASA events

October runs #13 clockwise like the April event while November runs #1 CCW like the June event. Registration now open for both. I plan on running both.
