  • NASA Fontana Event now Open

Just noticed they opened registration for the NASA Cal Speedway event on March 17 -18. Prices are $279 for both Sat. and Sun., or $199 for one day only. Garages are available for $99/weekend. Friday is open for racers and HPDE 4/TT drivers. Anyone interested? I'm 90% sure I'm going (only 45 minutes from home!) and I'm pretty sure this one sells out fast. Here is the track layout for the weekend, running counter-clockwise.

Another good one...I think I will go. I am still not sure about my February travel plans and can not commit to Willow Springs. And a new track is always exciting. Should have my new shocks by March.

Not too far from SD, either....Or Costa Mesa, for that matter.

I just signed up. Now all I need to do is find a loud, cheesy motel near the freeway:D

          I just signed up too.

Any interest in renting a garage? It is $99 for the weekend, but I have no idea on the size.

The garage will hold about four 7s. It is a communal garage with a lot of other cars rather than the private arrangement @ Buttonwillow. Nothing wrong with that, just different.

              I'd take a spot.

I'll reserve one assuming 4 cars will fit. If more than 4 of us decides to sign up, then we can try for another.

                  California Speedway ALMS course

Just a thought guys, the oval part of the California Speedway's ALMS course is a loooooooong way to be holding your car at full throttle and max rpm's; not unlike the old days when we ran Riverside's long grand-prix course. Make sure your gearing, and water/oil cooling systems are up to it.

                  Best wishes,
                  Clark

Yeah, it may not be a great track for a 7 but I want to try it just the same. Ditto Willow Springs - I'll know more in a month or so.

Are you guys going to stay in the area? I will probably go home overnight and just leave the car there.

I haven't decided yet. The track is only 45 minutes from home, but my brother is allergic to cats and we have 4 of them so he may get a room near the track, and I may stay with him.
