  • 50 Years of the 7 - L7CGB International Event

    From the "News and Events" page of the September 'Lowflying'.

    The 2007 International Event to be held on the 14th, 15th and 16th
    of September, next year, at the Norfolk Showground (in England) will
    celebrate 50 years of the Se7en!!

    This event will only be open to members of the Lotus 7 Club of Great
    Britain and their immediate families, and other owners of genuine
    Lotus and Caterham Sevens.

    There will be a full programme of activities and catering facilities
    over the whole weekend with accommodation options - including on-
    site camping. Here's what's planned so far.

    Friday 14th:
    Track day at Snetterton and evening 'get-together' at the Norfolk
    Showground.

    Saturday 15th:
    Early morning breakfast Blat; display of Sevens - earliest to
    latest - and pre-7 Lotuses.
    Activities and attractions: 'Seven Things' - demonstrations and
    talks; Trade stands for 'all things Seven'; Catering
    Evening 'Marquee Party' - Hog Roast, drinks, band, dancing,
    presentations.

    Sunday 16th:
    Morning Blat - route to be determined;
    Sprint: a round of the Club Speed Championship at the Lotus test
    track at Hethel;
    A tour of the Lotus factory at Hethel.

    There will be lots more to come. Planning for the 50th Anniversary
    of our terrific little cars is in its infancy! Should be BIG by
    next September! Mark your calendars.

        Al Navarro on the East Coast here. If the cost isnt' too crazy, I'd be very interestedin going. I'd leave the Superlight at home...but perhaps look into Caterham's rental plan? On second thought, probably best to drive in a larger rental due to the RHD thing.

          50th Anniversary Celebration

          I've already discussed this event with my wife and said it's something I'd like to attend. Our '7' is a 40th Anniversary model and I'd like to see first hand what the 50th Anniversary edition looks like! Besides I have a number of cyber friends in the L7CGB it would be good to meet in person. At this point, this trip is high on my wish list and an excellent motivator to get my expired passport replaced.
