  • Bay area blat - Skyline West

We are starting to make some plans for a blat in the Santa Cruz mountains - taking in part of Skyline drive. The proposal so far is to start at 8am in Woodside, blat over/across the mountains and end up...well that's TBD. Suggestions welcome.

    Proposed date: Sunday September 10th.

Let's see a show of hands from any and all who might be interested!

The Scheduling Department has cleared me for attendance. Do you have any specific place in mind to meet? If it is just the two of us, then we could start closer to both of our homes. Black Road to Skyline perhaps? I don't remember what the road surface is like though... I'll go check right now.

              regards,
              PSz.

Sorry, I got distracted and went up Bear Creek Rd. to Hwy.9 instead. It was quite pleasant.
Bear Creek was a little slippery to begin (perhaps just cold tires). Posted (radar enforced) limit is high enough that any infraction would be "minor". There are one or two Churches toward the bottom, so there would be some Sunday traffic possible. At the summit of Bear Creek someone had left a very nice new pallet in the road. I didn't hit it. Wine tasting at David Bruce could be fun but probably unwise to drive a Se7en afterwards. The road surfaces were reasonable, with only a few bumpy patches and residential areas. Ultimately provides many options for a longer blat especially when reaching the junction of Hwy.9 and Skyline.
I can check out Black Road tomorrow. I will probably let the adrenalline wear off before posting tomorrow though!

PS. I am still open to starting off in Woodside.

                regards,
                PSz.
