  • Anyone up for a San Diego county/Mt. Palomar blat?

I'm thinking of a route simlar to last years' 7 seven effort. One possible date might be Sat June 17. However, it ain't writ in stone and I'm pretty flexible on the weekends around that date. Additional proposals/thoughts/comments are welcome!! Anyone interested to make an assault on the Mountain?? Probably meeting about 9 AM with a lunch stop and early-mid aft conclusion.

Any weekend in June is O.K. for me.

Last year's route was great and I would sure do it again. On the other hand, I would not mind seeing different area/roads.

I'm available any weekend in June except the last weekend (24th and 25th, my daughter's dance recital). I sure enjoyed the drive last year!

        Yes please!

I should be back May 27, so June 3/4 would be perfect..

I have an autocross on the weekend of June 3/4. The other weekends look clear.

              Sounds good...

I would like to join you guys with my Lotus Seven S4. Any weekend in June is fine with me.

                JLC:

I met and talked w/ an S4 owner at an autocross event in Pasadena in the Rose Bowl parking lot about 5 years ago (or so). I was on my bicycle. Was that you?

One possible variation would be to take the Montezuma road into Borrego Springs. Excellent road & drive, BUT, it's likely to be more than 100 degrees in Borrego Springs. Bring sunblock and a hat.

This route would still meet at the same place just off I15 and should still include Mt. Palomar because it's too much fun not to do. The return could be the same route or pass through the Julian area.

                  Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

Sounds good, and I don't have a problem with the heat.
A while ago Magnus, Stan and I did the piece from east of Temecula on Sage Canyon Rd. to Hemet, then Hwy74 east. Excellent roads, especially the high speed hairpin turns up to the junction with 243. I am not sure if that would fit well with the rest of the trip, just an idea.

The Hemet trip is probably better done in conjunction with Idyllwild and San Jacinto, I think.

Is a final date set? It is getting closer and I need to plan for some other weekend activities.....

                        Thanks, Gert

Let's plan on June 17, unless the majority dissents.
