  • Bay area blat this Saturday

Steve Blair, the organizer of the USA2005 tour will be in the Bay Area this week, so let's get together for a BLAT!

He is leaving Saturday night so we would want to go in the morning. The route is not decided yet, suggestions are welcome. Steve is in the south bay, so Santa Cruz mountains or Mt Hamilton are close...

Moss Landing - that's Monterey Bay, right ?

I would come up HW 1 to Sata Cruz and then take 17 up towards Los Gatos. There are plenty of tiny roads off Skyline. I haven't heard from Tom since he posted, so I'm not sure what his preference is. I would have preferred to go up Mt. Hamilton - but that's going to be a LOT of driving for you from where you're coming from (I'm in S. San Jose).

        Tom - any update ?

            ...update

I just spoke to Steve. He is probably not going to be able to make it, but he will let me know for sure later tonight.

So, we can cancel or we can go without him...what do you chaps want to do?

I can only do an early morning run...I've got kid duty starting at 10:30.

            Cheers,

            Tom

So working backwards - is 30 mins enough time for you to get back to where you need to be Tom ? Or should we allow more time ? That would put our finish time sometime before 10. If we want to be driving for an hour (?) max, that puts the start time before 9.

"Capt. Molecule" - is an 8:30am meeting time too early for you ? As for a meeting place - somewhere on 17 would probably be a good compromise. Anybody got any suggestions for exactly where ?

8:30am works great for me! Let's meet at 17 and Summit Roadhttp://maps.google.com/maps?q=Los+Ga...0.026063&hl=en. There is a small parking lot next to the east side of the bridge.

Captian Molecule, will this work for you?

                Cheers,

                Tom
