  • Caterhams assault Mt. Palomar on May 21

Let's have another day on this challenging SD County mountain.

All Caterham owners and aficionados are invited to "Run what ya brung" to the top of the mountain. We will likely cruise to Julian for some dining after Mt. Palomar. But, if the group prefers a blast furnace experience, Borrego Springs is also possible.

Rumor has it that one gent will be trying to best the 7s with a McLaren sports car (Good luck on that).

A meet-up around 9:30 AM @ the Park 'n Ride located at the intersection of I 15 and Highway 78 will give everyone the opportunity to gas up and store trailers and transport vehicles for the day. Please respond on this site or email me @ [email protected] so that we can keep some sort of a headcount. Also, please post any relevant, or irrelevant, questions here.

Sorry for not replying sooner. We haven't re-grouped for this drive since 2013. High time to do it again!

Sounds like great fun; if anyone happens to be trailering from Vent or L A Counties with room for another 7, I'll pay the gas bill. Very best, Rex

Can we have a roll call on who will be attending?

Yes, attending. Will be a bit warm, though. Weather forecast is 89 degrees,

Them that attended had a rousing drive up and down Couser Road, to the top of Mt. Palomar, and on to Julian.

The worst obstacles encountered were some very expensive rear engine German sports cars being driven up the mountain at speeds suitable for a 4th of July parade. Clark wisely and correctly observed that: "They should have their keys taken away" for driving such cars so slowly.

Also had many opportunities to flatten some bike racers on Mesa Grande Road. All were avoided.

Thanks to those that participated! Photos were not taken so that there would be no evidence of our alleged misdeeds.
