  • Dyno day - CANCELED!

    CANCELED!

    Date:
    Sun Nov 8
    Time: 12:00AM - 5:00PM

    Where:
    Bisimoto Engineering
    1916 South Lynx Place
    Ontario, CA 91761

    Cost:
$180/hr. A car usually takes between one and two hours to map, mostly depending on how crappy the PC mapping software is. There may be a pool to cover Magnus' travel expenses.
Tipping the tuner is optional, but appreciated.

    What to bring:
Car, w/ adequate fuel, fresh oil/plugs, clean or new filters.
Laptop w/ appropriate engine management software and cable. Magnus will bring an WIn XP laptop in case you only have a CD and a cable.
Money/checkbook/credit card for dyno time, lunch, and donation to tuner.

Participants in red are joining for the first time and will have priority.

    Participants:
    werthie (Alan)
    prabhohns (Paul)
    Randall (rzempel)
    Nick O'Teen
    escondidoron (Ron)
    Elv15 (Tom Jones)

    Spectators and support (hecklers):

    On the fence:

WARNING: Your engine may blow up due to unknown mechanical issues.
Neither Magnus Feuer or Bisimoto will take responsibility for ruined engines, and we will both have you sign a waiver before touching your car. My only words of consolidation is that this is the sixth time we've done this and no engines have been harmed yet.

Please make sure that your engine is freshly serviced. We will run it at full throttle for about 1-2 minutes in total. We will also hit peak RPM three-four times during the session. Make sure that your rev-limiter is set correctly.

        You know the drill:
        Sat Oct 10
        Sun Oct 11
        Sat Oct 31
        Sun Nov 1
        Sat Nov 7
        Sun Nov 8
        Sat Nov 14
        Sun Nov 15

I'd appreciate reimbursement for travel expenses, but expect no other payment.

I would be interested in another session Nov 1, works best for me- let me know if you need a place to stay

Note that anyone that did not get on last time has some priority.

          Randall.
Chris if he can find the ECU issue.

We should start early to get everyone in.

If time I want to put my Golf Diesel on to see if it differs after the 'Fix' whatever and whenever that happens.

I'd sure like to do it as I wasn't able to make the last one. October 31 isn't good for me and November 7-8 may be a problem but I sure do hope this comes together for everyone.

I'm very interested in attending, but I haven't been to one in the past, so I don't really know the drill . . . Do I need to have an AFR gauge or a bung in my exhaust for an AFR hook-up? Or is there an exhaust "sniffer"? If it's determined that my 7 is running lean and/or rich, will there be a variety of jets and tubes on hand to purchase? Who's the Weber expert? Many thanks for the details.

You need you, your car, money to pay Bisi.

They have a sniffer to put in the exhaust.

The car needs to be in good running order, plugs, wires, oil and cooling system all need to be in good shape.

Bisi is a Weber expert and has some jets but will he have the right ones for you, he did have them for the last Weber equipped car. That was an original Lotus 7. Do you know what you have in there now?

sounds like fun! i'd prefer the November dates, just in case the Dodgers go the World Series.
i'll check the chokes, E-tubes and jets and let you know.
                      thanks, Doug!

Seems like Nov 8 is the prime candidate with most participants. Sorry tiprdr.

                        I'll update the top post

This car is on Webers. Went on the Dyno with about 60 HP (it was too low to measure), and came off with 90HP. Bisi had the jets in his box of tricks.

Chris, AKA Moosetestperson has elected to pass as of the other day.

Randall should get one of the first spots as he waited all day and missed out last time.
