  • Opinions, please -- 2015 picnic date

August worked out pretty well last year. Monterey car week runs August 10th-16th this year, so I am thinking to schedule it on either the Saturday before like last year (would fall on the 8th this year), or the Saturday following, which would be on the 22nd. Opinions, please?

I have attempted to use the poll option in this thread, but a reply in any form will do.

edit -- The poll will expire in early February because the ability to reserve a picnic area opens up six months in advance of any desired date.
edit 2 -- I'll cast the first vote, for the 22nd, because there is a vintage race event at Laguna Seca on the August 8-9 weekend that some (specifically, Lotus 7 owners) might be likely to attend. I know of no conflicting motorsports events within a 1,000 mile radius on the weekend of August 22-23.

    LOG35 20-24 August

LOG35 will be based in Colorado Springs August 20 - 24, 2015. This is the second time Lotus Colorado (LOCO) has hosted this national event. All Se7en type cars are welcome to join in the fun.

I do try to attend the pre-reunion as super7guy suggests, so my vote is for the 22nd. I actually tend to enjoy the pre-reunion more than the reunion itself.

Looking forward to the bbq again this year.

The Polar Bear blat is Aug 14-31, if that makes any difference for your planning.

Are you going for it rzempel? Jim and I will be there in our Ultralites. We will likely drive up to Seattle the weekend of the 8th so unfortunately neither option works for us :(

Unfortunately not. But if my schedule is clear, and the skies the same, I'll drive up for Sean's picnic.

August 1st might also be an option? If so, would need to decide before M/E January. No pressure.

Depending on the timing I may be along, too. No commitment yet but I keep an eye on it. And, assuming my car survives another 3000 mile trip in June.

Dude! You simply must get some of that Moroccan Oil for after wash. It leaves hair so silky, shiny and manageable. I swear by the stuff. And you can put it in the transmission in a pinch (leaving it more manageable too!).

I'm now leaning towards August 1st, as that seems to be the date with the fewest potential conflicts with other events of interest to 7-ers. Surprised that more than half of the responses here so far have been from SoCal!

Oh wait, I don't have any hair......

Dates too far away for me to have an opinion, I don't even know what I am doing tomorrow :)

Hi Sean/All - I'm back after a long absence gathering my resources to buy a kit. Since I just did that in December, I might be able to attend this year's picnic in my first Seven (Ballistic Orange 480)!

I'll go with majority view on picnic date, but either August 1st or 22nd look good to me. Will be good motivation to get it bolted together (and registered) in time...
