I am going to the NorCal picnic the following weekend. You should come. It's only about 700 miles round trip. Just a warm up for you.

My rear end (on the Caterham) is torn down, waiting for a new watts link and a missing bolt for the diff mount.

          Did the bolt fall out?

What happened to the Watts link?

            Would you believe it's raining?

Storm is moving slowly to the North, should reach Los Gatos in time for the picnic.

So far the official weather service forecast for Los Gatos on Saturday is "Sunny, with a high near 88." Although that doesn't preclude a single storm cloud over the park I suppose...

                Doug:

One of the forward Diff - chassis bolts are gone. I have no idea if it came undone or failed, nor how long it has been gone for.

The watts linkage arms rubbed against the brake calipers, weakened and bent a bit. New arms should be here tomorrow.

                /Magnus F.

My car does not have the Watts link. Simplify. Lightness.

Turned out that the diff-to-chassis bolt was sheared. I managed to get the remaining bit out without having to drop the diff.

Tomorrow I'll buy grade 8 bolts (I know, I know, tensile strength =/= shearing strength, but it can't hurt) and start reassembling.

                    /Magnus F.

Well, would be nice but have been traveling too much lately. I am looking forward to a quiet weekend at home (maybe a quick run to Wrightwood).
But first I need to get home. Right now I am stuck in Toronto, luggage lost and flight missed. I hate when that happens. Damn the Canadians...
