Well I figured I would post this for anyone who might be interested in autocrossing their car.
Ready Set Go!! Fellow Autocrossers
The next PCA/SBR Autocross is set for Saturday September 21, 2013 at the Camarillo Airport with course setup the day before on Friday September 20th starting at approximately 1PM. This Autocross is Open to ALL Cars and Drivers age 18 and older. This will be the final PCA/SBR autocross for 2013 and will be a PCA Zone 8 Points event.
NEW!!! AT This Event First Place trophies will be awarded to the fastest Porsche driver in each class, CC01 – CC16, SS01 – SS09 and specialty classes as needed. When a class has 4 or more entries a Second Place trophy will be awarded. To properly classify your Porsche simply visit the PCA Zone 8 website link below and while there you can download the 2013 PCA Zone 8 Rule Book which covers; General Rules, Driving Events, Concours and Rally. All non-Porsche cars are in the X class and will be eligible to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies based on their fastest times.
Now would be a good time to start sorting out your car for the event checking tires, brakes, all fluids, etc. Per PCA Zone 8 rules, page 28 “All car occupants must wear a Snell approved helmet (SA, SAH, K or M), which has the current available Snell rating or the one previous Snell rating. So Snell rated helmets rated in 2005 and 2010 are good to go.
We have three (3) PCA certified driving instructors so far for the event and expect a couple more to be available to those desiring their instruction. Currently I do not know if the club has crash helmets for those who need one that met current PCA Zone 8 rules, but I will check and advise via email as we get closer to the event.
