  • Anything happening 1-8th June?

I'm supposed to be working hard in Davis, CA between the 1st and 8th June so I was wondering if anything was happening during that period. :D :D Are there any local circuits where some racing might be going on ... Sevens or not?

I know you all are working hard so I will not tell you I'm off to Spa-Francorchamps tomorrow ...

    Race

Oh, you are lucky. There is a NASA track event in Reno during the weekend with the first ever NASA-Sevens-Challenge Race (www.nasaproracing.com). That should be about 2-3 hours drive from from Davis. If you want to know more about it you can check with Woody Harris in Vacaville: [email protected]
He might even be able to give you a ride.

    Cheers,

    Gert

      Sears Point vintage races

Located just 30 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sonoma Raceway is a 1,600-acre facility with a 2.52-mile road course and drag strip set in the beautiful hills of Wine Country. The year-round motorsports complex offers a slate of full slate of annual events, highlighted by two of the top racing series in the country - The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Sonoma Raceway has events scheduled 340 days and 50 weekends a year, and is also home to a professional kart center and motorsports industrial park.

June 5 and 6 are the Sears Pt. vintage races which is where I am heading on Saturday. If you are thinking of going let me know and we can meet at the track. Golden Gate Sevens happens to be there also in the shop area. Rich is often there on Saturdays.

   Waking up in a hotelroom in Tokyo I found an email on my laptop with the bad news that a customer in Europe would like tto see me ... so I can only stay in CA until the 3rd ... call that bad luck (ok, good for business but bad for fun)!!

If anyone lives really near to Davis though I would not mind having a beer or 2 either next Tue or Wed evening ....

I'm glad I went to Spa-Franchorchamps, atleast that makes up for this. A bit more concentration and a better setup of the car allowed me to dip just below 3min (2'59.48). Makes me feeeeeeeeeel gooooooooood ..... :D

Well, that is too bad (or good) for you. Reminds me:

I will be in Aachen 1st and part of 3rd week of August. Do you know if there is anything Sevens related going on in Belgium or Western Germany that time?

          Thanks,

          Gert

Gert, I'm living 50min away from Aachen and 45min from it (or 10 from me :D ) is Zolder, my hometrack. Every Thursday afternoon it is open for licenceholders so once you know when exactly you will be around then let me know!! If it works out for you and I can take a day off I'm sure we can fit in a one or two hour "training" session where you can be my ballast
Beside that I'm sure there are lots of other things going on as well so [email protected] . I'm off to get some sake now

              Are you ever in Sweden?

              Stijn.

If you ever pop up to Sweden, drop me a note. I am right now on an intense commute schedule between LA and Stockholm. I came back home yesterday, and will leave for Stockholm the 11:th of June for yet another week of obscure telco development work.
