Laguna Seca July 9,10,11

I'm going to Laguna Seca with Speedventures on July 9&10. I'm excited, since I've never driven this track before. If anyone is interested in signing up, here's the link. Saturday is full for those just wanting to run one day. If you sign up for Friday or Sunday, they will make room for you on Saturday as well.

Sounds great but 880 bucks for 3 days is a little beyond my allowance :eek:

I am sending my gas tank out for a custom fuel cell and it likely wont be back before then :(

I will however be dropping by to watch the LCS racing on one of the days.

Edit: Since you are driving all the way you should consider doing the GGLC track day at Thunderhill as well (http://gglotus.org/blog/?p=1317). I will be doing that one in the Elise and there will be at least one Ultralite there as well.

Laguna Seca always seems to be twice as much as the other tracks, but having never been there I want to try it at least once.

The Thunderhill event looks fun, but I won't have that much time to stay for it. Wish I lived farther north!

First time out today I was flagged for sound! 98 db, and I wasn't even pushing it. Now I'm sitting at a cafe waiting for the muffler shop to build me a new muffler. Hopefully will get back on the track today.

Had a new muffler built up, which I can switch out with my old one easily. I was able to make it back to the track today, and they let me run in all the groups, so I was able to get plenty of track time in despite spending half the day at the muffler shop!

I still was barely over the sound limit, which I'm sure is my intake since this muffler is very quiet. I will have to drive around in 4th and 5th gears for the rest of the weekend, but it's still a very pleasant track to drive.

You only need to watch for sound on the exit of 5. Just take that corner a gear high and you should be fine for the rest of the track.

I'll drop by around noonish tomorrow to say hi.

I want to have a muffler shop at this track. They must be pretty busy :)

I'd thought of the same thing - specialize in providing inserts and such! Especially if you had an "in" with the sound check people - kind of like the deal Halliburton had!
