  • AROSC Track Day / TT - June 5/6 Buttonwillow

I have not been to the track forever and would really like to go again.

AROSC has the TT with new passing rules* (you may have got the email) and for $230 both days it is not too bad.
I hope we could get a few Seveners together (maybe even including the Northern Lights from the Bay Area).

Anybody interested? They warn it may sell out rather soon.

    Gert

    New Run Groups
The run groups for the weekend will be the standard NCRC groups, as follows:
    - Driving School: Mandatory for people who have not driven on the track before or who are uncomfortable driving solo. This will be a highly controlled driving training environment.
    - Solo Group: Passing only on straights and only with a point-by. This is for people with roughly 1 to 7 track days or who think they would be uncomfortable with less restrictive passing.
    - Point-By Group: Passing is allowed anywhere on track but only with a point-by. This is for people who have something like 7 to 20 track days.
    - Open Passing Group: This is for people with 20-plus track days or drivers with race or race school experience.
    - Race/Enduro: Same as AROSC Race Group.

    I am very interested.

Clark said something about doing the Enduro.

If we get a bunch to commit soon I'll try to rent a garage.

Oh, what the heck. I sent in my sign-up sheet.

          FWIW from their email:

We expect this weekend to be a sellout, so it is important that you enter as soon as possible! Since this event is being run jointly with NCRC, there are a limited number of slots each day. There will be a maximum number of slots in the School (25), Solo (30), Point-By (35) and Open Passing (40) run groups each day. Once the slots are full, you will be placed on a waiting list. As of today, NSRC has already filled up almost half the non-race run groups, so you must act quickly!

What Group did you sign up for?

The point-by passing one. I might be beyond the suggested 20 count on track days (not sure) but I am anyway a bit rusty.

I am planning on driving down from the Bay Area for the event. Need to confirm a few schedules and should register by the weekend.

                      I rented us a garage.

$150.00 for the weekend. It will fit fit 3 to 5 cars easy and we've squeezed in up to 7.

                        Thanks Doug.

Do people have recommendations for a Seven friendly hotel? I will be driving down on Friday and will be staying at least fri and sat nights (possibly sun as well)

I have been at the Super 8, the Red Roof Inn and the Motel 6. They are all crappy but I found the Motel 6 bearable and actually the cheapest. The Red Roof Inn was worst.

They are all not really Sevens friendly since weird folks are around and you don't see the car. I suggest to leave the Seven at the track and hitch a ride with us to the hotel.

But I might even bring an air mattress and camp in the trailer.

I signed up for the Point-By group too. Sounds like it will be a great weekend!

Please let me know who's in on the garage.

I'll assume Gert unless he says otherwise.

If Magnus comes he automatically gets a spot for doing this Website.

If we get enough cars we might be able to get two.
