A group of us are planning to invade Monterey this August for the race weekend as part of a longer tour. There is a thread here on USA7s for those interested.
I hope to attend the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Racesآ®, or the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, or whatever the lawyers decide the event should should be called this year.
Bumping this thread. If you're planning to attend with the group, then consider making your reservations soon. You only have until May 25th to order your discounted race tickets and corral pass from GGLC, and hotel availability is always a crapshoot. The Wiebe Motel still has rooms and allows cancellations with a full refund up until a week before your stay, so if you're on the fence, then consider grabbing a room now so you have it.
The GGLC usually has a breakfast around 7:30 at the IHOP in Salinas with the convoy usually getting to the track around 8:30 or so. I'll post more info after I meet the club folks at the monthly meeting tomorrow.
Sounds good - we should definitely caravan down together. I'd expect to leave Santa Clara around 6:30 and get to Salinas around 7:30 for breakfast. Will be in the Elise on Saturday and the Seven on Sunday.
When are you driving up and back? I am planning for Friday up / Sunday back. And I am not doing Bitterwater Road and Peachtree Road again :)
For that matter, anybody else going from LA?
Breakfast in Salinas sounds good. When?
Gert - I also plan to head up on Friday and back on Sunday afternoon (after the races). Eventually I'll be relocating to the silicon valley, so I may or may not be up there by that time.
I registered early and got my ticket and my gate pass, however my company has informed me that I will be working in China before, during and after this event. My loss is your gain. I will sell my ticket and gate pass to another 7 owner for the cost of the early admission, $90.00.
Please contact me and we can arrange this.

Any news about your plans? Would be nice to have some company.
I still plan on heading up friday - I was considering taking a half day and leaving around 11am, but I could be convinced otherwise - especially if the weather is looking hot.
I wouldn't mind the comapny either. Do you have another interesting route planned? I actually did really like peachtree.
EDIT: I may be mistaken, but I thought there were maybe one or two others driving up from socal?
