Yes, does not look promising. I did not think of Valentine's Day, either. Well, we can push it out a bit, and possibly make a quick decision if a nice weather weekend is coming up.

But I really would like to do the Crystal Palace then :)

In a friendly effort to assist those genetically compelled to pre-plan life, look here

Looks like the pineapple express has arrived for a while.

    Good luck.

Dang! I've already got a trip planned to Reno that weekend to visit my dad. We will be driving up hwy 395 which is very scenic but I won't be in the Birkin.

I did get my new alternator and voltmeter installed and the Birkin is running fine again.

I can think of at least a couple nice half day loops from Bako.

I don't know how to post maps but from down south coming up thru Hwy58 past Tehachapi (get gas there) and turning at the Caliente exit up thru Walker Basin to Lake Isabella and back to Btown (Hwy178 Kern Canyon) would be nice first day.

Leaving Bakersfield and up thru Glennville to Kernville, Porterville and/or Visalia (loop back thru those towns or keep going).

Sunday is Valentine's Day so don't know how that would affect a multi-day trip for some. February is always kind of iffy... though it's not hot.

President's Day Blat, maybe this time?

    Anybody interested in another attempt?

I think the idea was good and there is of course a risk of another bad weather weekend. But planning doesn't cost anything.
Working...
