I don't think that the numbers are given in any particular order, I was 4th in line last year and got #480 and people that were behind me got numbers in the 100's
Final tally: Looks like 10 of us were in line for SB100 numbers, and all of us got one! And I think you're right, they don't seem to come in sequential order for some reason.
There's light at the end of the tunnel (all I need now is the light/brake and smog)!!
The good news is I got a temp reg that's good until the end of March.
I can actually drive my car now!!
Rob and I were the only 7's.
Let's see if I can remember the mix. A 32 5 window coupe. A Humbug dune buggy. A Noble m400. A Superformance gt40. A Cobra. A Shea 32 Ford. I think there was one other that I forgot.
It's funny the first guy inline was the 5 window coupe, he had someone else hold his spot at midnight!! The owner came by at about 6:30!! I was second at 3:30 Rob was next at about 4. The Dune buggy guy was fifth, he said he went by Santa Monica at 2am and there were between 20 and 25 people in line! I wonder how many of them got numbers?
The 5 window guy did a 32 roadster last year, he said he was first then too and he said he got #490. So, yes it must be random.
I'm sure there will be some more people doing this again next year I hope I still remember the ins and outs.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for their help and encouragement.
