This is the 12th annual San Diego Vintage Car racing event and is held @ the North Island Naval Air Station on Coronado Island. The same vintage racers run on both days. I usually attend on saturdays, because it is less crowded, and will be doing the same this year. We start with an 8AM breakfast at The Old Town Mexican Cafe, in the Old Town section of San Diego, and blast off from there to the races. For those that have a 7 or suitable car for the Car Corral exhibition area I will have ten passes available; 7s first, then all other mortal cars.
I especially enjoy vintage racing because I love old cars and their sounds. Also, unlike big time racing the spectators can stroll through the pits and see the cars close up whilst talking with the owners and mechanics (often the same individual). The grandstands are well located and food/beer is available. Once I saw a pretty girl, too.
If you are interested let's meet @ The Old Town Mexican Cafe @ 8AM. Please let me know if you want a Car Corral pass. See ya at the races!!!
