I just bought tickets. Anyone want to go? We're welcome to park in the Lotus Corral. I plan on driving up the coast on friday.

Sounds good....I might be there. Family is out of town anyway and with the furlough Fridays we got now, no PTO needed. Well, it will be UPTO of course....
I could imagine driving up Hwy 1 on Friday, be there Sat and return via Airline Hwy on Sunday.
Thanks for the tip!
Gert
P.S.: this would make for nice trip back.Last edited by slomove; June 3, 2009, 10:36 PM.

Any suggestions on where to stay? I've only been to a few of the convention hotels in Monterey, expensive if you don't get the convention rates.

Maybe I just bring a small tent and try to make a reservation at the county campground next to the track.

Unfortunately for me, I will be out of town that weekend.
I would check watsonville, santa cruz, gilroy and morgan hill. You may have a 1/2 hour drive though.
I will be staying in San Jose, but that's only because my room and board is free.

But with one day up, one day there and one day back home that would be a bit tight....
I am considering to stay in Hollister, maybe here. Not the most exciting place in the world but $65 cheap, not too far and at the beginning of the Airline Highway.
And.....Stan, Doug? Only 400 miles one way.Last edited by slomove; June 5, 2009, 08:36 PM.
