We will be traveling from Alaska to Monteray for the Historics. Will any other Caterham folks be attending?

Unlikely I'll be going to Monterey, as I'd rather finish my car!

went for the Saturday races. OMG, this track blows away the big 3 back home. Haven't seen NJMP up close, but Limerock, Pocono, and the Glen are derelicts compared to teh surface at Laguna Seca. and thats with Limerock being repaved this year.

i'll hopefully put pictures up later this week or next.

first race was Legends in supercharged Scion tC's. they just banged doors and beat on their rides. Awesome. ancient historics were next, that was fun to watch. teh were 3 Formula Jr heats. Mario Andretti drove teh Lotus mk79 shampionship car around. Toyota had a GTO, GTP, and 2000GT run exhibition laps. the 2000gt got all out of sorts and spun on the top of the corkscrew.

There was huge 40+ car field for late '60s Trans Am series cars that had AWESOME racing. the the lead would change 3 times a lap. i was most impressed with the #9 car who came from middle of the pack to finish 3rd iirc.

Early '70s Can Am cars had the last heat of the day. sorta sucked except for 2 pieces. the first 5 of the 10 laps were done under yellow since they couldn't line up or had an off for those laps. The off was a collision on the corkscrew that smashed teh front corner of one the cars, it needed to be owed off iirc. the other bit was Bobby Rahal running his own Lola from 20+ position to 1st in essentially 5 laps!

hopefully a national meet can be organized to coincide with this event...
