  • Hemet this Sunday?

Weather forecast still looking good for Sunday.
So, who is coming for a trip around Mt San Jaquinto (150 miles)?
Idyllwild, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, back to the mountains, Anza and return. Optional long route via Borrego Spings can be decided upon in Palm Desert.

    I will go anyway!

    Shit.

This weekend is Supercharger Weekend where the newly aquired supercharger will be fitted to my dear old Zetec.

When this is done my supercharger-equipped car will blow everything else out of the water. Especially Brad and his non-supercharged Caterham. light as it may be...

    Next weekend?

Slomove: Unfortunately I am committed to an SCCA National Solo II event on Sat & Sun here in SD. Yesterday the repairs on my car were completed and it's now blatworthy again---after almost 3 months. I'm planning to become trailerized real soon and will then be more able to attend the more distant events from SD. Looking forward to the day I can load up the 7 hit the track in Las Vegas or Crest Highway or whatever :!:

Our Exalted Webmaster and Founder, Magnus Feuer: I formally invite you to join your fellow club members @ the Streets of Willow on April 17 & 18. There, in front of all assembled 7 owners and Almighty God, I invite you to humiliate me and my wheezing puny underpowered Zetec 7. Administer the whuppin' I so richly deserve :!:

Anybody "On the Fence" about going: Here is your chance to see the first SV 500 in the USA embarass the mouthy louse from San Diego :!:

David L & Mr. Malibu: You have a new competitor. 8)

        Oh, darn it....

I am considering my options. As I said I will be going anyway but if there would be more participation the following Sunday (i.e. 3/14/04) I can change plans. A blat alone is nice but a blatitude is better :-)

        Any interest?

            O.K. 14th it is

Michael, then I will drive around home this Sunday and postpone the Hemet/Idyllwild trip until 14th.

Magnus, you think your afterburner hyperspace jet engine will be alive by then (not to mention survive the 150 miles  ) ?

            Brad, any plans?

            Anybody else?

            See you there! Gert

              I will be there.

Although my engine will probably be like an italian, high maintenance girlfriend with an attitude, I figure that if I bring massage oil and fine wine I should be able to coax it through the day.

Can we meet up at 10:00 instead of 9:00? It is a looong drive to get to Hemet...

Slomove: I will be attending an inspection of my home to be conducted by the in-laws. After the Streets of Willow weekend let's put together a multi car blat. That event may stimulate more interest in a blat.

                    Hmmm.

Guess once if I've had any time this week to finish up the installation of my supercharger....

I'll try to get some time on it tomorrow and during Saturday. But I may not make it (again).

                      Wussies

Hey you guys, as mentioned before I will go anyway.....

But let me know if somebody else is going to come along. If not I may hit the route a more convenient point than Hemet.

WHAT HO! Now This is what a car club is supposed to sound like! The gauntlet's been thrown down and they're off!

If I can get my car together, that is. If not I'll show up in my '89 Volvo 760 turbo, a mighty Swedish beast indeed.

Although it may lose the 0-60 sprint against Brad, with one or two tenths of a second, I will compensate that with my superior driving skills.

I'm, ahem, reminded of the old Norveegan fight song....

Ten tousand Svedes ran tru da veeds,
                            Chased by vun Nor-veeg-an!

I've got a few good ones about dem der Norveegees too. I'll save em for April.

That song would probably stem from the Swedish king Karl XII's second invasion of Norway late 1718. Things started out fairly well (from Sweden's point of view), but went downhill rather quickly when the king got a bullet through his head. He was dead before he hit the ground.

3000 soldiers died from hunger and cold while trying to get back to Sweden.

And Brad: Don't gloat, Norway was a Danish province during the time...
