  • Early in March?

I may be in Southern Cal the first week of March and was wondering if there were any car events going on?

Are you going to be here over a weekend? I am not aware of anything this group is attending. Maybe a drive out to the Mountains? Doug, Stan, anybody?

    Otherwise:
Feb 29 Streets of Willow – Speed Ventures
March 1-2 Willow Springs (Big Track) – Pantera Club
March 8-9 Buttonwillow – Green Flag (maybe—date not yet confirmed)

Saturday March 8, I plan to go to the "Cars and Coffee" get-together in Irvine. This event occurs every Saturday, but March 8 is a newly designated British car day (same as the May 10 event). Plan to arrive around 6:30a if you want a spot to display your car, later is ok if you are just going to spectate. Everyone leaves by 9:00a. All the details and directions are at:

Anyone else want to go? I had a great time last month when I first attended (well maybe not the freezing early morning drive down from Victorville!).

Also, VARA (Vintage Auto Racing Association) is having their first race of the season at the California Speedway in Fontana that same weekend. I went to one of these several years ago and saw a few old 7's racing. I'll probably stop by on my way home from the Cars and Coffee event. Details at:

The Pacific F2000 race series is often held along with the VARA Group.

M.Murphy and Pierre are planning to be at California Speedway March 7th, 8th, and 9th.

I'll be there as fuel monkey and general go-fer

Look for my pickup and trailer, not the Seven. We should be in one of the garages.

I'll stop by for sure then!
Do you know if a pit pass will allow me to get into the garage area?

We are now doubtful for Cal Speedway in the F2000 car. The gearbox is somewhere in Texas being rebuilt and probably won't be ready in time. Major downer. However, if we don't run at Cal Speedway I will take my beloved Seven to Thunderhill that weekend (March 8/9) for the NASA event there.

                    Early March

Looks like the plans may get moved back a couple of weeks.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
