  • Willow this weekend

Well fellas, I'm back in the saddle again, and so I'll be at Willow on Saturday next, and perhaps 1/2 of Sunday. Stokes likely to be there if his car's sorted (reason enough alone to come have a look) but I think that's likely to be about it from the 7 crowd I think.

C'mon Magnus, you know you want to.

So cool, after all that time away and then all that work...:D

It was just Stokes and I. Without a doubt the weather was as fine as anyone has ever or will ever see at Willow. Mid 70s, dead calm, perfect. Just about everyone noticed too, because so many of them have spent so many, erm, somewhat less comfortable weelends there. The track got a little too warm by session 3 both days but 1, 2, and somewhat oddly, 4 were great.

Stokes came 3rd to a V8 Radical and a full-on Scion race car on Sat. but took 1st Sunday after the Radical broke and the Scion had brake issues and both went home early. I put in my fastest time of the weekend (and ever, shaving a full 3 seconds off of my previous best:D) Sunday afternoon in the last session and was overall 2nd fastest therein. To Stokes. So, that'll be [edit] Duratec Powered [/edit] Caterham Super 7s 1 2 in TT / HPDE4 then sir.:D If the faster (TTU) cars had been there the results would have been different. But hey, f**k it, I'll take it. Not a bad week's work, eh Doug?

From Fontana onward I'll be TTing all the time now, most probably in TTR. The license is in the mail and the car will always be pre-teched (WAHOO!!). It's way big fun.

I spent Saturday in the 1:34s - 1:36s. Sunday was better, my best was a 1:32.334, Stokes popped off a 1:27.592 last session on Sunday. He was sorting his car; w/ remapped engine and new Quaife 6 speed sequential (which is beeyouteeful).

Hey Chris (or anybody else, for that matter), kind of O/T....since Reno-Fernley disappeared, are you going up to Thunderhill in Summer? I am considering June 7/8 or the October event. Infineon is another possibility but I found T/H much nicer.
