A blat is british slang for a drive with a Lotus 7. My guess it comes from the distinct engine noise of our cars.

Any time you take the car out can be considered a "blat". It's often more enjoyable to do it in company with other 7s. We have appropriated the term from those fellows whose yoke of oppression we cast off more 200 years ago. 8)

Blat - the Definition??

A couple of choices for definition of BLAT - you choose!!

"Apparently the word Blat was used by the Met (police - not weather) to describe going fast.

It is an acronym for BLues And Twos i.e. blue light and a two tone siren."

I guess that my definition might be
To Blat:
To drive in a free and open style on public roads where the manner of
driving is more important than the destination.
To Blat: derived from the noise of the induction and exhaust symphony ?
